Naheed Nenshi was sworn in as Calgary's 36th mayor on October 25, 2010. He is a passionate Calgarian, an accomplished business professional, and a community leader. During his first term in office, Mayor Nenshi’s leadership has resulted in many positive changes in Calgary to build better communities, keep Calgarians moving, and transform government to reinforce a culture of constant citizen-focused improvement at The City of Calgary.
Prior to becoming mayor, he ran a large nonprofit, was a trusted advisor to corporate leaders in Canada and the US, and literally wrote the book on Canadian cities.
Mayor Nenshi spent many years at the international business consulting firm, McKinsey and Co., where he advised large telecommunications, banking, retail and oil and gas companies in corporate strategy. After leaving McKinsey, he formed his own business, the Ascend Group, to help public, private, and nonprofit organizations grow. In this role he designed major policy for the Alberta government, helped create a Canadian strategy for The Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy and worked with the United Nations to determine how global business can help the poorest people on the planet. Mayor Nenshi was Canada's first tenured professor in the field of nonprofit management, at Mount Royal University's Bissett School of Business.

Henry was ordained to the priesthood on May 25, 1968. He holds an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame and a licentiate in theology from Gregorian University in Rome. Demetrio Navarro is a Canadian songwriter, singer, arranger, and producer, who reaches into his eclectic influences to create some of the most accessible songs in many genres. His music is rich in vocal harmony and he is not shy about layering thick keyboard passages in his arrangements. Heavily influenced by the music of his formative years in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, there are always elements of edge and rhythm, along with a strong melody to provide the listener always with something to take away and hum.
As a producer and co-writer for other artists, Demetrio Navarro finds the best way to enhance their song ideas by calling on his wealth of influences and ideas. Relentless in the studio for working through the details, he has been able to take each song to its next level of artistic revelation, to the artist's approval.
Demetrio Navarro's most recent work comes from writing music to the scriptural writings in the Psalms. He has brought his stylistic roots into his songwriting to bring out the timeless messages in these passages and give them modern musical sensibilities. The ideals of hope, prayerfulness, and gratitude are given a fresh, and powerful new delivery vehicle that no longer alienates the often jaded, modern listener.
