Guest Speaker

Speaker - Jeff Lehrmann

Jeff Lehrmann Jeff Lehrmann is President of Chevron Canada Limited, an upstream oil and gas company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, and wholly owned by Chevron Corporation.

As president, he heads a growing organization that oversees oil and gas exploration, production and marketing of crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids in Canada. He assumed his current position on April 1, 2010.

Jeff was raised on a central Texas farm and in the Lutheran church by his hard working and loving parents, Jerome and Janie Lehrmann. He was blessed with the opportunity to graduate in 1986 from Texas A&M University where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in petroleum engineering.

Upon graduation, he began his career with Texaco as an engineer, based in Bakersfield, California. He went on to serve in a variety of engineering and management positions with the company in various upstream operations across North America and Indonesia.

In January 2005, he was appointed advisor to George Kirkland, Executive Vice President, Global Upstream & Gas, based in Chevron’s corporate office in San Ramon, CA. In March 2006, Lehrmann was appointed Area Manager of Chevron’s San Joaquin Valley heavy oil thermal operations based in Bakersfield, CA.

In February 2008, Lehrmann was appointed General Manager of Asset Development for Chevron’s North America – Mid Continent Alaska Business Unit based in Houston, TX. In that role, he was responsible for Chevron’s Upstream assets from south Texas to the Alaska North Slope and an annual capital budget over $1 billion US.

Jeff has been married to his high school sweetheart and best friend, Cindy, for the past 25 years. The Lord has graced them with four children. Their 3 sons, Jared, Justen, and Jorden are attending Baylor University in Waco, Texas pursuing degrees in Mechanical Engineering. Their daughter, Caitlen, is in Grade 11 at Rundle College in Calgary and plans to join her brothers at Baylor University after high school.

The Lehrmann’s are members of Foothills Lutheran Church in Calgary. They are focusing their ministry in Calgary towards early childhood literacy through their activities with Calgary Reads.

The Calgary Leadership Prayer Breakfast is pleased to welcome Jeff Lehrmann as our guest speaker.

Special Music

Mike Janzen
Jazz Pianist

Mike Janzen Mike Janzen is piano playing puzzle. On the one hand (perhaps his left), Mike is a well-trained classical musician with strong technical and music theory skills including a Bachelor of Music degree from Brandon University and a Masters of Composition from the University of Toronto. On the other, his musical journey includes forays into the worlds of rock, funk, folk and jazz.

For the past fourteen years, Mike has elected to make playing and improvising jazz a personal and professional priority. He has studied jazz with Dave Restivo, Mark Eiseman, Jim McNeely, David Braid, Paul Read and Wayne Bowman. He has played with such luminaries as Hugh and Fergus Marsh, Ben Riley, George Koeller, Andrew Downing, Frank Botos, Steve Bell, Pat Collins, Jacob Moon, Jenni Burke Miracle Quartet, SMJ Quartet, Ciara Adams and his own band The Penny Merchants.

Now living in Toronto with his wife Jodi, Mike is a regular on the Toronto music scene. Current projects include symphony arrangements for the Winnipeg Symphony, a film scoring project collaboration with Daniel Lanois, studio work, live touring, and his brand new trio album, Beginnings, with drummer Ben Riley (Bruce Cockburn, Michael Kaeshammer), and renowned bassist George Koeller (Holly Cole).

Two time JUNO award winner Steve Bell says, “Mike’s extraordinary improvisational intuition and skill sets songs ablaze with virtuosity. And…he’s just a great guy!”
